Pakistan hikes defence budget by 11 per cent
Pakistan has hiked its defence budget by 11 per cent from Rs 627 billion to Rs 700 billion with the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar saying the government cannot be oblivious to national security challenges amid tough challenges on its eastern and western borders.The Pakistan Army will get Rs331.411 billion; Pakistan Air Force Rs149.68 billion while Pakistan Navy has Rs71.438 billion for the coming fiscal. The DP Establishment/ISOS got Rs147.46 billion, Defence Administration both for defence and defence production divisions was given Rs1.88 billion..In comparison, the outgoing Congress-led Indian government had increased India's defence outlay  by 10 percent for fiscal 2014-2015 commencing on April 1 this year.
