Barry-Wehmiller International Resources Organizes the 6th Edition of DesignACE
Barry-Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR), in partnership with SolidWorks Inc., proudly presents the 6th edition of DesignACE, the annual national level engineering design contest. An excellent platform to showcase design talents, BWIR invites engineering students across the country to participate in this event.

This year’s DesignACE is themed on “Sustainable Products through Manufacturing”. With this theme of global appeal, the event aims at inducing awareness into young designers about the increased need of sustainability in manufacturing and to open their minds to think differently. The contestants must submit their innovative design with a brief write-up for the short listing procedures on or before 14th August 2014. For more information on the contest and guidelines, please visit www.bwir-designace.com or call 044- 43909100.

The contest comprises of three levels. The first level calls for innovative designs from the students out of which 50 teams will be shortlisted for the second, pre-final round. A live industry problem is given to the teams to work on in the pre-final round. Lastly, 8 teams will be selected to present on the final day before a grand jury consisting of eminent people from the academia and from the industry.

SolidWorks Inc. is the technology partner for the design contest. Students who register for the contest will be provided the software kits they should use for the modeling. The participants will get a chance to interact with and showcase their talents to the industry leaders, academicians and engineering professionals. And like every year, the event also has attractive prizes to be won.

Speaking on 6th edition of DesignACE 2014 contest, Mr. Senthilkumar D, Vice President and Senior Partner of BWIR, stated, “We are proud to again organize DesignACE in association with SolidWorks Inc., in the sixth consecutive year. It has been unique for being one of the few annual events exclusively for students in the engineering design platform. This event has always given us the opportunity to bring in young engineering minds together and encourage them to nurture and develop their unique talents. While we are aware about the dearth of innovation in this country, I am sure events of this nature are going to be catalysts in igniting the young minds. We hope to make this event a bigger success with every passing edition.”
