Five point programme titled “Retrofitting of Existing IT parks in Cyberabad Zone” was launched today by Hon’ble Telangana State Minister of IT and Panchayati Raj, Mr. K. T. Rama Rao at the event hosted by Tech Mahindra. The project is being coordinated by Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) and Indo-German Environment Partnership Cell (IGEP) of Deutsche Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
Welcoming the guests, Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, VC & MD, TSIIC said, “Cyberabad is considered to be one of the most distinctive work and living spaces in the country. It is important to maintain that reputation by identifying new opportunities to enhance the quality of life of the people who live and work here, and those who are visitors. The 5-point environmental initiatives will help Cyberabad catch up with other cities that now exemplify the best urban practices across the world.”
Mr. Raghu Babu, Senior Technical Expert & Programme Coordinator, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH gave an overview of the five point agenda for retrofitting of IT parks to include, making the existing buildings green and barrier-free, waste management (both solid and e-waste) in industrial parks, promotion of ‘Cycle to Work’, increasing green cover in the zone and storm-water Management along with rain water harvesting.
