Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited (KMF), the second largest cooperative dairy in India, and a household name in the country’s southern states for pure and fresh milk products, today launched Nandini GoodLife toned milk in 100ml Tetra Pak packages at an affordable price point of Rs 4. The new product will be made available to consumers in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
Supported by Tetra Pak, the world’s leading food processing and packaging solutions provider, KMF is certain the 100ml Tetra Fino Aseptic (TFA) packages will cater to the increased demand for safe and hygienic milk. The 100ml TFA packages allow KMF to increase affordability by pricing the product at Rs 4, thereby reaching a much wider audience.
“Consumers will now have easier access to best quality milk with the launch of Nandini GoodLife milk in 100ml Tetra Pak packages. Priced at an affordable Rs 4, we are extremely happy to add the 100ml Tetra Fino Aseptic package to our portfolio. The new format will help us reach even the most remote areas of the southern states. Our 12-year long association with Tetra Pak has enabled us to provide our consumers with safe and good quality milk,” said KMF Chairman G Somasekhara Reddy.
“KMF’s strong presence in South India will ensure more consumers have access to safe, hygienic and nutritious milk in Tetra Pak packages. This is in line with our company’s vision to make food safe and available, everywhere. Packaging their toned milk in TFA packages allows KMF to increase the reach of the product with its lower pricing. We are pleased to build on our partnership with KMF and be a part of their growth plan,” said Tetra Pak South Asia Markets Managing Director Kandarp Singh.
KMF is the apex body in Karnataka representing dairy farmers' cooperatives. It is the largest cooperative in terms of procurement as well as sale of milk in South India. KMF has 13 milk unions in Karnataka that procure milk from primary dairy cooperative societies and distribute milk to consumers in various locations across South India. KMF’s growing portfolio in the TFA segment, with 500ml, 200ml and now 100ml packaging formats, has increased affordability for the consumer. The cooperative dairy’s endeavours have allowed for the supply and availability of quality milk in remote areas of the region.
Milk packaged in Tetra Pak packages is Ultra-High Temperature (UHT) treated. In this process, milk is heated to very high temperatures for just a few seconds to remove all microorganisms. Milk so treated has no preservatives and does not need to be boiled, making it ready for consumption straight out of the package. Milk in Tetra Pak packages also has increased shelf-life and does not need to be refrigerated until opened. Tetra Pak packages are also 100% recyclable.
