State Bank of Mysore unleashed a flurry of CSR activities
State Bank of Mysore unleashed a flurry of CSR activities today, in its Centenary Year, in an impressive function held at its Head Office   in the presence of State Bank Chairman Shri Pratip Chaudhuri.
•    The Bank sanctioned Rs.1.35 crores for setting up ‘SBM  Centenary Paediatric Ward’ at  Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore, The Chairman, Mr. Pratip Chaudhuri,  handed over  the sanction letter towards SBM contribution of   Rs.1.35 crores to Dr. Vijaya Kumar Director KIMO, Bangalore for this purpose.
•    The Bank distributed 15 wheel chairs and rolators to the differently – abled children from Spastic Society of Karnataka, Bangalore. Mr. A. Krishna Murthy Hon. Treasurer of Spastic Society of Karnataka, along with the children of Spastic Society received the equipments from the Chairman, State Bank Mr. Pratip Chaudhuri.
•    The Chairman also handed over keys of a 24 seater mini bus to Swami Harshanandji of Ramakrishna Mission, Shivanahalli, Bangalore rural district to facilitate transportation of children to school.
Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Director Shri Sharad Sharma mentioned about Banks commitment to CSR activities   and participation in various such activities over the years.  Mr. Sharma also mentioned about the 7800 fans supplied to various schools through its branches this year and supply 1580 water purifiers to schools last year on similar lines.   Mr. Sharma also spoke about the possibility of the Bank scaling up the CSR expenditure to maybe 1.5 – 2 % of net profits in the coming years.

The Chairman, Mr Pratip Chaudhuri, dwelt on the various aspects of the CSR activities  of the Bank, which is open to all  institutions serving public  cause  and came without any strings attached. The Chairman made a philosophical observation that  donor and donee  should be put  on equal  footing as the donee   has given an opportunity to donors to serve  the  needy. The Bank on its part was only discharging its responsibility as a corporate citizen.
