Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC)is organizing a one day workshop on understanding the Web: Core features of the Web platform as part of the “HTML 5 Tour” conducted by the World Wide Web consortium India office on September 19, 2013 at Hotel Atria, Bangalore. Web developers, Mobile web developers, Content Authors, Web designers from various organisations, all over Karnataka are attending the program.200 participants have registered for this event.
World Wide Web consortium (W3C) is an international standards body which develops standards/best practices/recommendations to ensure seamless web access to all. The vision of W3C is to achieve’’ Web for everyone and web on everything’’ W3C works in tandem with other standards making bodies such as Unicode, IETF, ICANN, and ISO at the international level. W3C has so far published about 193 standards for web technology and working in the future web standards.
HTML5 is the cornerstone of the open web platform that the web community is building. It is the upcoming fifth major revision of the core language of the World Wide Web, HTML. The speaker, an eminent technology leader and expert Mr. Michael Smith from W3C will impart training on the new features that include 3D stunning visuals, faster games & live charts, Device Access. Geo location, Camera, Play Audio/Video across devices, work offline and store locally, better performance with web workers, semantics: Rich tags, CSS3: Superb Styles & effects.
