Laurus Edutech, one of the premier skill development companies in India and the training partner of NSDC has collaborated with VBHC (Value and Budget Housing Corporation) to provide skill based training to over 3,000 students in Bangalore. The partnership is aimed at mobilizing and training the students in the construction sector so that the rising need for skilled manpower in the construction business can be fulfilled.
As per recent research reports, the Construction Industry is in dire need of skilled manpower and there are not many players around who are providing training in the construction trades. Thus, Laurus has stepped forth to impart training in various trades like bar bending, tile layering, form work, electrician and plumber so that they can fill the widening skill gap. The course duration is spread over 1.5 years wherein the students will also be given on the job training. The training is going to be conducted at three levels in each trade and at the end of the training program, the candidates will be conferred with a MES Certificate by Laurus. Moreover, Laurus will play a key role in training the faculty and trainer, organizing content for the course and taking care of the soft skills of the students.
The avant garde construction training program by Laurus would be conducted at VBHC site in Anekal (Bangalore). Based on the requirements, progress and response, Laurus will establish more centers at other VBHC locations in the coming time.
Commenting on the association Mr. Vardhman Jain, Founder Director, Laurus Edutech said, “Though the construction sector is booming in India, the scarcity of skilled manpower is affecting the growth of this sector. According to NSDC, there is a requirement of 500 million skilled manpower by 2022 in the construction industry which means there is a huge demand of skilled manpower in the sector. We are happy to join hands with VBHC to provide skill-based training and opportunity for people to enter this industry and develop a worthwhile career.”
“The construction sector is witnessing the dearth of skilled manpower which results in high wastage of resources on site. The shortage of the skilled manpower is holding up projects. Our partnership with Laurus is aimed at imparting skill development training in the construction sector so that we can increase the productivity and quality while executing projects successfully”, said Mr. Rahul Sabharwal, COO, Value and Budget Housing Corporation.
