Asia Shopping Centre and Mall Awards for DLF Mall

The largest upcoming retail destination of the country, DLF Mall of India continues to be the most promising mall of the year. The project which is nearing the launch in mid-2014 has won three awards at the prestigious Asia Shopping Centre and Mall Awards in a ceremony that was held in Mumbai.

Of the three awards, Pushpa Bector, Senior Vice President and Head (leasing and mall Management), DLF Mall of India won the award for ‘Most Admired Shopping Centre Professional of the Year’. The other two were awarded to DLF Mall of India under following categories:-
·         Best Architecture & Interior Design Shopping Centre
·         Best New Design & Development & Sustainable Design Award

Acknowledging the awards, Pushpa Bector said, “It’s a great honor for DLF Mall of India to be recognized at the Asia Shopping Centre and Mall Awards. Asia Shopping Centre and Mall Awards are organized by Asia Retail Congress which is an important global platform to promote world-class retail practice. The focus of the two day event was to discuss and influence the issues for change in retail scenario and aimed at the who’s who of domestic and global retail companies for networking.

DLF Mall of India submitted the nominations for the awards explaining the unique features of the iconic, innovative and breakthrough project helmed by DLF, the largest commercial real estate developer in India. The 1.93 million square feet marvel retail destination is modeled after best in class international flagship properties and is an eclectic ensemble of retail offerings spread across six levels of retail experience with zones clearly defined as Market Place, International Boulevard, The High Street, Family World and Leisure Land. The Mall would add many firsts to its portfolio such as:- more than 475 retail units, coupled with the largest indoor entertainment city spread over 2 levels – which would have 7 DT star screens and the largest food court with over 1200 seats. Yet another first to the project would be the racetrack atrium for better visibility and access of the stores in the mall. Also, there would be over 73 escalators and an express escalator to provide convenience and comfort while shopping.

DLF Mall of India has been granted the LEED Gold green building certification and has become the largest mall to be awarded with such recognition. Not only this, the mall has also become the first Indian mall to be recognized at international MAPIC awards as the Retail Rising Star of the year.
