CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury was in 'critical' condition and was on respiratory support at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi.
He was in the intensive care unit (ICU) for treatment of acute respiratory tract infection.
The 72-year-old was admitted to AIIMS on August 19 for the treatment of a pneumonia-like chest infection.
