Canadian International School celebrates Multicultural Day

Canadian International School celebrates Multicultural Day
The Canadian International School (CIS) Bangalore today organized its annual multi cultural day with many interesting activities and programmes representing different countries in the world. The aim was to commemorate multiculturalism and celebrate the forming of a global society made of staff and families from more than 37 nationalities at CIS. The objective of this program is to encourage the students to learn more about different cultures the CIS community represents and celebrate diversity and international understanding.

The exhibits from students were bright and colorful, and featured flags, posters with information about the countries, maps, other cultural displays and a wide array of items and interesting information to represent their country. Parents and visitors were treated to exciting entertainment from the school choir. The well organized performances by the different ethnic groups and messemirizing bollywood songs had the audience begging for more. Food stalls with mouth watering servings of specialties from all corners of the world, gave everyone the opportunity to enjoy an international meal.  It was not a day of formal dressing but ethnic traditional wear hogging the limelight. Treasure Hunt for students was also held during the day.

CIS also raised funds for charity through a silent auction of different artifacts, rare collections of art and craft for the different community services and NGO’s which CIS actively supports.
