HP to Scale up Operations in India, as One of Six Global Delivery Hubs

HP Enterprise Services announced that India has been designated as one of six Best Shore global delivery hubs to support rising client demand for lower-cost, scalable services.

The Best Shore expansion plan for India as planned under the existing environment and other related factors includes the launch of three new facilities in Bangalore and Chennai. In view of the planned expansion, HP expects to add close to 500,000 square feet of real-estate and hire additional talent in 2011.

HP Best Shore hubs are designed to improve the client experience by offering access to deep industry and technical expertise that can tailor sophisticated solutions to meet unique client requirements. Additionally, the hubs will help reduce delivery complexity by providing multiple services from a single location.

“To achieve their enterprise goals, clients need access to a collaborative environment with innovation across borders and organizations,” said Neelam Dhawan, HP Managing Director, India. “The HP Best Shore hub in India leverages our local HP Labs to deliver some of the most innovative services to help clients effectively meet business needs.”

As a strategic Best Shore hub, India offers a complete range of capabilities in Applications, Infrastructure Technology and Business Process Outsourcing for global and domestic clients.

“Clients leveraging skilled resources in India for their enterprise expect high-value services in addition to lower costs,” said Robb Rasmussen, Vice President and General Manager, HP Best Shore. “By blending HP’s technology prowess with our service delivery expertise across industries and capabilities, HP can cost-efficiently deliver unique, high-value solutions to clients all over the world.”

HP’s integrated Best Shore global sourcing model provides high-quality, flexible services using standardized tools, processes and best practices to more cost-effectively support clients. This model includes the skilled global workforce of MphasiS, a majority-owned, India-based business of HP.

The HP Best Shore expansion is part of the $1 billion investment HP announced in June to transform and grow its Enterprise Services business. Other hub locations include Bulgaria, China, Costa Rica, Malaysia and the Philippines. These growth locations offer scale, multiple service lines and large employee-friendly campuses. HP’s other global delivery centers will remain critical to the success of the overall sourcing model, providing specific skills, languages and time zones that HP clients require.

HP Best Shore helps clients create their own Instant-On Enterprise by helping them deliver flexibility, automation and speed to market.
