The advances in electronics and control technology, which have become smarter and real time, have given a very useful tool in the hands of engine designers to precisely optimize fuel supply for control of output performance, emissions, fuel consumption and usage of certain fuel blends.”
Mr. Pawan Munjal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp
“The scope of this agreement is quite significant for Magneti Marelli as our partner in this JV is the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers. HMC-MM Auto Ltd will also develop its own autonomous Development Centre. As Hero expands its global footprint at a fast pace, this will enable the company to develop products featuring appropriate technology for different customers in geographies across the world.

As a responsible world citizen, HMCL is wedded to go-green as a policy and staunchly believes in minimum impact on environment by producing highly fuel-efficient products with lower emissions. It has always met all new emission norms put out by various Governments every few years. The new JV shall be of great value in helping meet future standards as well.

Commenting on the performance, Mr. Anil Dua, Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Hero MotoCorp Ltd said, “The year 2011 has been extremely positive and eventful for the company. We donned a new brand identity this year and introduced the country’s first on-road, off-road bike Impulse, our first model to be launched under the new Hero brand name. Throughout the year, our sales performance has made consistent progress. We reached new milestones early this year with record sales and managed to keep it in excess of half a million units per month. Going forward, we intend to further consolidate our leadership position with new launches combined with focused communication and network expansion.”

Year 2011 was most significant for Hero MotoCorp as it took a big leap by launching its new global and independent brand identity. ‘Hum Mein Hai Hero’, the re-branding campaign was an instant success, gained immense popularity and established Hero MotoCorp Ltd. as a strong entity.

On the new product front, this year saw an impressive addition to an already strong product portfolio of the company. Earlier this year, Hero MotoCorp launched refreshed models of Glamour and Glamour FI to further strengthen leadership in the deluxe segment.
