mRUPEE ties up With #IRCTC for payment of @RailMinIndia tickets

mRUPEE, a subsidiary of Tata Teleservices has tied up with IRCTC, India's largest e-commerce company, to provide an additional payment gateway. Indian Railways carries more than 23 million passengers a day and the association will allow users one-tap payments for rail ticket bookings via mRUPEE wallet for a significant number of travelers.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), is a subsidiary of the Indian Railways that handles the catering, tourism and online ticketing operations of the railways. As the biggest e-commerce portal in India, IRCTC holds record of over 13 lakh tickets booked in a day in April 2015. The portal sees approximately 4.5 to 5 lakhs bookings per day on an average.

#Meghalaya joins Indian Railways map

Prime Minister Modi has inaugurated the 19.75 km Dudhnoi-Mendipathar railway line, one that takes off from the New Bongaigaon-Goalpara-Guwahati main line at Dudhnoi in Assam, and traverses through 9.36 km inside Meghalaya territory to culminate at Mendipathar in West Garo Hills.

Prime Minister Modi said on this occasion that India had allowed 100 percent FDI in Railways, to spur the process of modernization of Indian Railways. He said the Government is also considering privatization of Railway Stations to promote economic activity. Railways need dedicated expertise and technology upgradation. In order to build human resource for this purpose, the Government would set up four Universities for the Railways, and graduates from these Universities would be able to contribute to the Indian Railways, also getting employment in the process.

#IRCTC introduces lucky draw for new users

IRCTC introduces a lucky draw for the New users who register and book at least one ticket during the week from Monday to Sunday. Every week on Monday, Four lucky users will be selected through a random process by computerized draw.

Terms and Conditions

The lucky draw contest will start from the week starting on 22nd September 2014 and will be held every week.

Those new users who register and book at least one ticket during the week will be eligible for the lucky draw on the following Monday.

If Monday happens to be a holiday, draw will be held on next working day.

Users should provide correct information while filling the registration form. Incorrect information may lead to disqualification.

A total of Four prizes will be given every week.

  ✓  First lucky winner will get a laptop.
  ✓  2nd and 3rd winner will get a Smart Phone each.
  ✓  4th winner will get New Delhi-Mata Rani package for one person (NDR01)-(All inclusive with confirm return ticket in AC-3 Tier).

Among the Ministers who contested Lok Sabha 2014 elections, the highest increase in assets in 5 months has been shown by Shri D.V. Sadananda Gowda of the BJP (Cabinet Minister for Railways). His assets have shown an increase of Rs. 10.46 crores (from Rs. 9.88 crores as declared in Lok Sabha 2014 elections to Rs. 20.35 crores in the 2014 declarations of the Union Council of Ministers to the PMO).

Sushma Swaraj of BJP (Cabinet Minister, External Affairs and Overseas Indian Affairs) who showed a decrease of Rs. 3.89 crores (from Rs. 17.55 crores declared in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections to Rs. 13.65 crores declared in the 2014 disclosure to the PMO). She is followed by Gen. V.K. Singh (Retd.) of BJP (Minister of State, Development of North Eastern Region (Independent Charge), External Affairs and Overseas Indian Affairs) who declared a decrease of Rs. 3.13 crores (from 4.11 crores declared in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections to Rs. 98.27 lakhs declared in the 2014 disclosure to the PMO) followed by Dr. Harsh Vardhan of  BJP (Cabinet Minister, Health and Family Welfare) who declared a decrease of Rs. 1.28 crores (from 2.82 crores declared in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections to Rs. 1.54 crores declared in the 2014 disclosure to the PMO).

41 (91%) of the Ministers are crorepatis based on their declarations to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).The highest assets have been declared by Shri Arun Jaitely (Rs. 114.03 crore) of BJP followed by Smt. #AcheDin : Now, get ready to pay more money for #Tatkal train tickets

Half of the tatkal tickets on 80 trains have become costlier with the Railways deciding to partially implement the dynamic fare system under which charges will depend on demand.
As per the scheme, 50 per cent of tatkal quota tickets would be sold under the existing system and the subsequent 50 per cent under 'premium tatkal' quota of dynamic pricing. The scheme has already been introduced in 10 trains from October 1. At least 70 more trains will come under the scheme in a week.
The decision clearly aimed at mopping up more revenues by the railways form passenger segment and comes in the midst of festival season when there is a big rush of train travelers.

About 940 hectares of Railway land is under encroachment

About 940 hectares of Railway land is under encroachment.Railways are engaged in a continuous exercise to prevent encroachments and protect its land by licensing of land to Railway employees for Grow More Food (GMF) scheme, providing boundary wall, tree plantation etc, at vulnerable locations. Encroachers on railway land are dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971 (PPE Act, 1971) as amended from time-to-time. Actual eviction of unauthorized occupants is carried out with the assistance of State Government and police. Complete Land records are maintained, updated regularly and get verified from revenue authorities periodically. Survey of encroachments is also carried out every year and the details of encroachments and their removal are recorded.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today. 

#Budget2014 : Rs.100 Crore Allocated for Metro Projects in #Lucknow and #Ahmedabad

The Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley while presenting his maiden Budget, in the Lok Sabha today announced that his Government has a major focus of providing good infrastructure, including public transport, solid waste disposal, sewerage treatment and drinking water in the urban areas. The Budgetary provision for the Pooled Municipal Debt Obligation Facility has been enhanced from Rs 5000 crores to Rs 50,000 crores with extension of the facility by five years to March 31, 2019. Shri Jaitley informed the House that this facility was set up in 2006 with participation of several banks to promote and finance infrastructure projects in Urban Areas on shared risk basis.

Shri Jaitley said that for urban renewal of cities and towns, four fundamental activities are necessary like provision of safe drinking water and sewerage management, use of recycled water for growing organic fruits and vegetables, solid waste management and digital connectivity. The Finance Minister said it is the vision of this Government that at least five hundred (500) such habitations must be provided support, while harnessing private capital and expertise through PPPs, to renew their infrastructure and services in the next ten years.

Government will encourage development of metro rail systems, including light rail systems, in the PPP mode, supported by the Central Government. Shri Jaitley stressed that for two million plus cities, planning of metro projects must begin now and in the current fiscal, a sum of Rs. 100 crore has been allocated for Metro Projects in Lucknow and Ahmedabad.

#RailBudget:Railways to reduce market borrowing

Indian Railways will borrow  Rs 11,790 crore from market through its two companies IRFC and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd for capital expenditure during 2014-15.IRFC will raise Rs 11,500 crore and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) plans to raise Rs 290 crore from market. Railways expects to mobilise Rs 6,005 crore through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) during 2014-15.

In the current fiscal (2013-14) Indian Railways to borrow Rs.13,800 crore from the markets. Its market borrowing will reduce by Rs 2,010 crore in 2014-15.

New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express derails

New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express (12236) derailed near Chapra in Bihar early Thursday. Four passengers are feared dead while four others are said to be injured. The accident occurred at around 2:05 am between Chapra and Goldiganj stations.Railway medical teams have reached the spot even as the injured are bineg taken to nearby hospitals.Prima facie the cause for derailment seems to be sabotage by the Maoists,said a railway official.
