Sresta’s Combat –Launch “Freedom from Pesticides Campaign” (Nationwide Initiative Fighting Pesticides)

Sresta Natural Bioproducts, one of India’s largest Organic food companies and promoters of India’s leading Organic Brand ‘24Letter Mantra’ products, today announced “Freedom from Pesticides” - the month long campaign initiating the fight against pesticide ridden food. The campaign was flagged off by farmers at Bangalore. The campaign aims to create awareness about ill effects of pesticide contaminated food & promote organic food as the best alternative for being healthy. Organic farming practices, restore soil purity, enhance soil aeration & water retention capacity and thereby are the optimal way to assert commitment to the ecosystem.

The month long campaign brings a unique offering – Consumers can bring in any conventional food products (which are grown with pesticides) and in exchange will be given tasty 24Letter Mantra food products free of cost. There is also a special invitation pack available at attractive prices enabling consumers to experience the organic phenomenon. An ongoing Cookery Competition encouraging customer to send in recipies using the organic products will take place throughout the duration of the campaign – the best 10 recipies which will be compiled into a book and launched at the closure of the campaign on August 15, 2011, on the occasion of India’s Independence Day. Interesting offers will be available across all products throughout the month.

Raj Shekhar Reddy, Managing Director - Sresta “Organic is more than just a label, it is a lifestyle and it starts from the moment food products are grown. At Sresta we are passionate about nourishing and enriching lives with a variety of great-tasting, convenient and healthful products grown domestically. We hope everyone will utilize the opportunity of larger selections of our current products and the newly launched products. The “Freedom from Pesticides” initiative highlights our dedication to this cause by offering food materials which are devoid of pesticides or other harmful products to society. It is a step towards enhancing the quality of lives of customers, people and farmers through a unique model where we are actively involved at each stage.

N. Balasubramanian, CEO - Sresta elaborated on “Freedom from Pesticides” initiative, “Keeping with our tradition & loyalty to quality, this campaign’s focus is to support the organic movement which benefits the entire eco system - soil, water, food and ultimately the consumer. India, as a country celebrates purity & wholesomeness which is the core of organic. Sadly we make a major compromise when it comes to purity in the food we consume. There are many grave issues in the food space we turn a blind eye to like pesticide residue, adulteration, genetic modification and unhealthy storage practices which in addition to causing health issues also lessens quality and taste.

We intend to highlight the benefits of adopting the safer and better alternative of organic over conventional food products. Our campaign will cater to eco sensitive consumers who prefer to include natural and organic foods and products in their life.”

He further added, “Going forward we intend to double area under organic farming from current network of 10000 farmers, cultivating 30000 acres to 50000. Further, we are introducing new products like soups, snacks, breakfast cereals and health products.” “We look forward to everyone visiting 24 Letter Mantra organic destinations & experience first-hand our commitment to a healthy lifestyle”.

The 24 Letter Mantra store promises a rewarding shopping experience with over 400 healthy products to choose from ranging from staples, cereals, grains, flours, dry fruits, to processed products like pickles, jams, juices, marmalades to bakery products with a guarantee no pesticides, artificial fertilizers, colors, flavors, preservatives or chemicals usage.
