A new foot bridge between Sampige Metro station and Mantri Square was inaugurated yesterday. Footfall is likely to increase in both Mantri mall and the Metro station due to opening of this new bridge. BMRCL Managing Director Pradeep Singh Kharola said: “This station is one of the most successful examples of Public Private Partnership (PPP) model and it would be replicated in other stations as well in the Namma Metro Phase II.”
Sushil Mantri, Chairman and Managing Director, Mantri Developers Pvt Ltd, said the direct connection with the Bangalore Metro will also help reduce vehicular traffic and provide hassle-free access to Metro commuters getting off at Sampige station directly into the mall.
Mayor B S Satyanarayana, who inaugurated the facility, requested Mantri Developers to adopt some lakes in the City.
The new bridge will allow commuters to enter from the station directly to the first floor of the mall.
