Logica, a leading technology and business service company, announced today, that their innovative proposition - Chargepoint interactive Management System (CiMS) is one of the finalists for the Global Mobile Awards 2011. Logica submitted its innovative proposition CiMS as an entry for the category “Best Mobile Innovation for Utilities”. Logica CiMS has been selected along with 4 other finalists for the awards. The winner will be announced on 15th February in Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona.
The Mobile World Congress is organized by the GSM Association (GSMA). GSMA is an association of mobile operators and related companies devoted to supporting the standardizing, deployment and promotion of the GSM mobile telephone system. Nearly 800 mobile operators and more than 200 related companies are members of GSMA. The GSMA Global Mobile Awards is the most highly sought after awards in the global communications industry.
GSMA received more than 470 entries from across the globe which was evaluated by the panel made up of independent judges comprising leading industry and subject matter experts, analysts, journalists and academics and in some cases mobile operator representatives, for appropriate categories.
Logica CiMS aims to make charging an electric vehicle as simple as fueling a regular vehicle. Logica CiMS provides the end-to-end functionality of locating and reserving a charge point, navigating to it, and authorizing and paying for the charge point usage on the user’s mobile phone. Logica CiMS is the first charge point management system in the world that uses open protocols between charge points and the central system, and between mobile application for the driver and the central system for payments. It supports multiple mobile payment solutions, from credit cards to mobile banking systems.
