Eurocopter and the Mahindra Group sign MOU for trade partnership to strengthen the civil helicopter industry in India

Mahindra recently entered into an MoU with Eurocopter, the world’s leading helicopter manufacturer, to contribute to the growth of the Indian aeronautical industry and civil aircraft market. Eurocopter has a solid, long term strategy for the growth of the India market, while Mahindra Aerospace is already creating a niche for itself in the fixed-wing aircraft and aerostructures manufacturing space. Mahindra sees this MOU as a significant step forward for both companies as well as the domestic aviation industry.

Eurocopter India Pvt. Ltd. is the 25th subsidiary established worldwide by Eurocopter and the 10th in Asia. It is the first and only foreign helicopter manufacturer in the world to have created a fully-fledged subsidiary in India. The new subsidiary is headquartered in New Delhi and has an existing facility in Bangalore for the management of industrial activity. An engineering centre will be created in Bangalore next year to support the company’s design, development and industrial activities, along with the opening of a new commercial office in Mumbai.
