Intel- DST Asia Pacific Challenge 2012 is a unique initiative in the area of technology innovation to recognize outstanding ideas by technology startups that addresses social issues across 12 Asia-Pacific countries. The Intel-DST Asia Pacific Challenge is designed for individual innovators and technology startups, organized by APIN in collaboration with Intel and the Department of Science and Technology (Government of India), across 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. This initiative aims to showcase excellence in technology innovation and entrepreneurship under the themes of education, healthcare, energy, environment, employability and technology for the masses.
The event featured innovations in the technology space serving as a window to the future of business with path breaking ideas and concepts from across the Asia-Pacific region. It also brought together more than 25 imminent Venture Capitalists to judge the innovators and technology startups at the event. The APAC finishing school was a 2 day intervention that witnessed UC Berkeley, National University of Singapore and IIMB mentoring the 24 finalists for the Finals of the ‘Intel DST APAC Challenge’12’.

With this initiative, Intel seeks to provide a platform to promote and accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship among the technology start-ups in the Asia Pacific region. This collaboration provides a platform for exchange of ideas, networking and business opportunities for innovators, entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, investors, international officials, policy makers and academia from over 12 countries,” said Mr. H.K. The Intel DST APAC Challenge and its affiliate programs reached over 15000 technologies and over 6000 ventures. 24 finalists were selected to compete in the APAC Finals at ‘The Power of e – Asia Entrepreneurship Summit’, a platform to showcase innovations and the power of entrepreneurship. The event also featured 24 innovations in the technology space serving as a window to the future of business with path breaking ideas and concepts, hosted in an environment that promotes innovation- an ideal opportunity to meet, greet and share ideas from across the Asia Pacific region.
The Intel-DST 2012 grand winners split a total prize of US$15, 000 for their innovations. The grand winners will also be eligible for a direct entry to showcase their projects at "Intel Global Challenge at UC Berkeley", a premier world stage for technology entrepreneurship.
