Logica, now part of CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, has named Conmio as the global winner of its Global Innovation Venture Partner (GIVP) programme. Prior to this, Wifinity Technology was announced the Indian Winner in this competition.
Wifinity was chosen for their innovative solution proposed on Energy Management.
Conmio, a mobile content management and provisioning solution that provides functionalities for automated device specific content/service offerings, overcame almost 300 entrants from 20 countries in the fifth year of the programme.
Speaking about the competition, GBS Bindra, Global Innovation Director, CGI, said, “The judges selected Conmio as a result of the company’s ability to flexibly support and monetise multi- platform content distribution where the content is optimised and formatted based on the end-user’s device”.
As with previous winners, Conmio, gains access to CGI’s global sales resources, go-to-market support and opportunities to engage with client organisations where appropriate. Conmio’s mobile solution will be promoted to relevant CGIclients and has the opportunity to be tied to sales propositions. They will also have their suggested solution added to CGI’s Global Portfolio Catalogue. As the India winner, Wifinity will work with the India operation in defining opportunities to collaborate with the country operations.
Conmio offers a unified service platform for mobile services and provides a seamless and secure integration between different systems.Based on instant identification of the user, the device, and the content used, Conmio’s solution matches and optimises the content for a better user experience.
TeroHämäläinen, CEO, Conmio says, “Working this closely with CGI will provide us with the opportunity to get in front of some of the world’s leading organisations, and help take our business to the next level. It’s an exciting prospect.”
Cathal D Griffin, director of business development, international Embarcadero, last years’ joint winner with Swedish based Vergic says, “We are now working with CGI in a number of regions including the US and India, the Nordics and Benelux. In the UK alone we have 18 new strategic opportunities where, with the help of Logica, now part of CGI, we have been able to roll-out AppWave, a purpose-built enterprise app store for PC software. We’re absolutely delighted that we were nominated to the programme and my colleagues and I look forward to continue working with CGI in the future”.
Qualities the judges desired were the originality of the offering, the potential of the idea and whether it was a compelling or exciting proposition.
Commenting on the benefits of the partnership, Xavier Aubry, CEO Appear Networks, says "The GIVP programme has been, without a doubt, a business accelerator for us. After winning the global award we quickly developed a joint go-to-market plan with Logica, now part of CGI in key countries. In the first year of the partnership we were able to close our first million Euro deal and generate a substantial new business pipeline in our target industries.”
GBSBindra added, “At CGI we have a commitment to fostering innovation. The GIVP programme allows us to establish and nurture collaborative links with other pioneering organisations and create game-changing outcomes for our clients. And, with the success of Comino, our clients will continue to benefit from cutting edge solutions for their business. It really is a win-win for all involved”.
