Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President Dr. G. Parameshwara today called upon the Congress Workers to inform the people of Karnataka the misdeeds of BJP Governance in Karnataka, while launching the Congress Party campaign for the ensuing Assembly Elections in the State today at Malleshwaram Grounds in Bengaluru.
He further asked the Party workers to strive in bringing back the Congress Party back to power and assured that Congress under the leadership of Ms.Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi was committed to give Clean Governance and able administration.
Dr. Parameshwara said that the time was ripe to bring in a change to put back Karnataka on the developmental path as the State was lagging behind in progress and prosperity. He also said that the aspiration of Farmers, Youth, Women and Industry was not met as the present BJP had come to power promising to meet these aspirations but were actually involved Corruption, Nepotism and mal administration.
He added that the BJP Government had failed in utilising the funds provided by the UPA Government, as most of the times they had diverted these funds for purposes other than for what it was meant but also failed in providing Utilisation Certificates to draw the second trench.
Dr. Parameshwara further said that the Governance given By BJP in the last five years has unmasked the party which came with a promise as “a Party with Difference” but were definitely different with almost the entire cabinet being on bail or for being in prison and most of their MLA’s facing charges of Corruption.
He added that it was probably the first time in History that Cabinet colleagues alleging charges of Corruption/receiving commission on the Chief Minister only.
Committing that Congress Party was committed to provide “ Clean Administration and Able Leadership”, Dr. Parameshwara said that his Party would strive to meet the aspirations of Farmers, youth, Women and the Industry.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Siddaramaiah, Leader of the Opposition in Assembly said that the present BJP government was a disgrace to Democracy as Corruption had reached its zenith and honest officials were not allowed to function, as all prominent positions in the government had price tags.
Mr. Siddaramaiah also accused the BJP of taking the State back at least by a decade both economically and also in development and all announcements made in their Budgets were only announcements, which remained on paper only.
Addressing the gathering, Convenor of the Campaign committee Mr.Veeranna Mathikatte said that Congress Campaign has been designed around the promise of Clean Governance and Stable Leadership and the message would be carried to every nuke and corner of Karnataka.
AICC Secretary Mr. Hanumantha Rao, Union Minister Mallikarjun Kharge, Veerappa Moily, former ministers of Karnataka, MLA’s and leaders of the Congress party also spoke on this occasion.
