The first “Jewels of India” which was held at Ashoka Hotel in 1999 was inaugurated by Mrs. Parvattamma Rajkumar and was an instant success. “Jewels of India” became the first exhibition in the country to showcase jewellery through a popular celebrity who acted as the Brand Ambassador of the show. Previous Brand Ambassador’s for Jewels of India have been Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Bhagyashree, Jayaprada, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Priyanka Upendra and Sumalatha Ambareesh.
The exhibition is displaying the best of Classic Kundan and Meenakari Jewellery from Jaipur, everlasting Temple and Antique Jewellery from Tamilnadu, Exotic Thewa from Rajasthan, Designerwear and Branded Diamond Jewellery from Mumbai, Handcrafted Gold Jewellery and Tribal designs in gold from Kolkata, Original Burmese Rubies, North Indian Gujarati Style handcrafted gold jewellery, best of South Indian Jewellery, Bridal collection, Bangle Collection, Fusion Jewellery, Men’s Jewellery and much more. Some of the top jewellers who are participating are Amrapali, Jaipur with exotic designs, GRT, Chennai with traditional and bridal collection, Panchkesari Badera Jewellers, Bangalore with North Indian designs, Mehta Brothers, Pune with the best of Kundan and Meenakari, Nikhaar Jewellers, Bangalore with exclusive Diamond collection, Champalal, Vellore with Antique and Temple Jewellery, B B Jewellers, Bangalore with contemporary collection, Vasundhara, Hyderabad with designerwear diamond collection and M P Swarna Mahal, Bangalore with Gem Stone and Royal collection.
