Union Bank of India has informed the Stock Exchanges vide letter dated October 01, 2013 that the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (3) of Section 9 of The Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970/1980, read with sub-clause (1) of clause 3 of The Nationalised Banks (Management and Miscellaneous Provisions) Scheme, 1970/1980, has vide notification dated September 30, 2013 appointed Shri. Mohammad Mustafa as Government Nominee Director of Union Bank of India in place of Dr. Achintan Bhatacharya with immediate effect and until further orders.
