Andhra Pradesh Tourism today conducted road-show in Karnataka at Bengaluru in order to promote tourist places in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Amazing Andhra Pradesh, known for its vibrancy in economic as well as social growth, today showcased its equally vibrant and rich spectrum of tourist destinations at the Road Show held today at Capital Hotel, Bengaluru. And as usual, it turned out to be a major attraction for the people of Karnataka known for their appetite for heritage & culture.

Visitors at the Road Show, who were under impression that Andhra is only a land of myriad of opportunities and industrious people, were left spellbound by state’s rich culture & heritage legacy displayed at the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department’s Road Show in Bengaluru. They were quite impressed by what the state offers to an avid traveler, apart from the vast range of tourism landscapes including Heritage, Archaeology, Religion, Wildlife / Ecotourism and Handicrafts.

“Apart from higher disposable income, People in Karnataka are also known for their inclination towards leisure. That is why the state has emerged as an important market for the tourism industry in the country and now it is on the radar of Andhra Pradesh. With this road-show, we also look forward to have tie-ups with tour operators in the state.” says Ms. Chandana Khan, IAS, Spl.Chief Secretary, YAT&C Dept., Government of Andhra Pradesh and Chairperson, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation.

Andhra Pradesh, the essence of Incredible India presents a wide spectrum of traditions, cuisines, cultures and religions. The state is a Gateway to East India where one can explore through the luxurious landscape. Synonymous to Spicy Kebabs, aromatic Biryanis and Pure Pearls, Andhra Pradesh is the Koh-I-Noor of India radiating an aura of fascinating mystique. Spanning over a greater part of Deccan Plateau, Andhra Pradesh boasts the second longest coastline on the Bay of Bengal.

It is worthwhile to mention that Andhra is bestowed with the third largest city, Vishakhapatnam in the East coast of India after Kolkata and Chennai and thus has a lot to offer on the front of beach / coastal tourism and water sports.                                   

The state invites millions of tourists, not only because of amazing natural diversity, but also because of various tourist attractions. These include capital city of Nizams – Hyderabad, Tirupathi Temple, palatial settings of Warangal and golden beaches at Vishakhapatnam etc.,

Andhra Pradesh Tourism has long chain of hotels with a size of 51, with a room-strength of 2600, comprising of bed strength with 5520 nos.

APTDC own a largest surface transport fleet comprising with a strength of 113 nos, comprising with Volvo Coaches, Mercedes Benz, Double Decker’s, AC Sleeper, Hitech – A/c, Hitech – Non A/c, Semi Sleeper, Mini coaches and Quallis.

APTDC also owns the largest water fleet - about 104 small and big boats, for any Tourism Corporation.  The corporation operates leisure based cruises and water sport vessels at different lakes and rivers of the State, Parasailing which include Hussain Sagar, Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar, Vijayawada reservoir, Rishikonda and Nellore.  Corporation has also introduced jet skies at Hyderabad, Mypadu and Surya Lanka.

APTDC presents Sound & Light shows at three historical forts – Golconda Fort,   Chandragiri Fort and Warangal Fort. These shows have recorded narrations (English, Hindi & Telugu) along with imaginative use of music, sound and light effects – creating a dramatic history of the forts.

Hyderabad Travel Meet 2014

Andhra Pradesh Tourism has decided to bring together the best of national and international buyers and the finest sellers in Andhra Pradesh at the Hyderabad Travel Meet (HTM) that is being conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department from 21st to 23rd February 2014 at Hyderabad. The venue for this event is Paryatak Bhavan, Begumpet at Hyderabad.

HTM 2014 would be the first of its kind in the state, promoted by the Government that will act as the perfect business platform that brings together national and international buyers and the finest sellers together.

“We are delighted to inform you that Hyderabad will stage the first edition of the Hyderabad Travel Meet & India Tourism Heritage Conclave from 21st to 23rd February 2014,” says Ms. Chandana Khan, Special Chief Secretary (Tourism) Govt of Andhra Pradesh.
