The deadline for implementation of the National Food Security Act has been extended by three months after Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to the Centre in this regard, Union Food minister Ram Vilas Paswan said today.
“The deadline for implementation of the National Food Security Act expires on July 4. Mamata Banerjee has written a letter demanding that it be extended by six months. We have extended it for three months,” Paswan told reporters today.
