#RailBudget2014: West Bengal neglected and humiliated:Mamata Banerjee



BJP and Trinamool Congress members came to the verge of a clash over the Railway Budget whose withdrawal was demanded by members from West Bengal. As soon as the House assembled at 3.30 PM after an adjournment on the Rail Budget issue, the agitated Trinamool Congress and AAP members trooped into the Well protesting over the budget. While Trinamool members were raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and the Railway Budget, BJP members raised counter slogans.Trinamool leader Kalyan Banerjee wanted to meet the Speaker. He gathered all his party members who later sat on dharna near Gandhi statue in Parliament House complex alleging that BJP members threatened to hit them and used objectionable language.


Trinamool Chairperson and West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee expressed her shock and anger over the Railway Budget. She said that never before Bengal has been so much humiliated and ignored.

"Our MPs are protesting in Parliament against Railway Budget. We will not sit idle if Bengal is neglected" she said.

"BJP is doing just what UPA did. They have hiked fares by 14.5% in just one month, they want to hike fares every time the fuel prices are increased" she said at a public meeting in Hooghly. "They have increased the freight charges and this will result in hike in price of daily necessities. Not only Bengal, other states like Odisha and Tamil Nadu have also neglected in Railway Budget" added the Chief Minister.
