Narayana Health Brings Its First Cath Lab in North 24 Parganas
Narayana Multispeciality Hospital in Barasat (earlier known as Jubilant Kalpatru Hospital) strengthens its cardiac capabilities by setting up the first Catherization Laboratory (Cath Lab) in North 24 Parganas. The Cath Lab equips the hospital to diagnose, treat and perform procedures on patients with heart conditions, both for adults and children. People in the region of Nadia, Behrampore, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly and North Kolkata will be largely benefited from this facility. These patients used to earlier travel to Kolkata or other parts of the country for cardiac treatment. The Cath lab consolidates the Department of Cardiology in the hospital, which houses high-end equipments, 8-bed Coronary Care Unit (CCU), under the expertise of strong team of cardiologists and technicians thus making it a full-fledged Cardiac Care centre.

Commenting on the launch of the Cath lab, Mr. Deepak Venugopalan, Zonal Director – East, Narayana Health, said, “We have been studying the medical requirements of this region closely since the time we acquired this hospital from Jubilant Group. We see a huge pool of patients in this region travelling to Kolkata and other parts of the country to get quality treatment for heart ailments. Also, when there are cardiac emergencies, the golden hour is very important in reaching the patient to a good cardiac care centre within a specific time period.  Therefore, by introducing this Cath lab facility, we aim to address requirements of a large pool of patients in this part of West Bengal.”

He also added, “We are looking at reinforcing our network in Eastern India and therefore our commitment to West Bengal by bringing high-class super-speciality healthcare services within the reach of the common man.”

The Modern Digital Cath Lab caters to elective and emergency heart procedures such as angiography (CAG), angioplasties (Primary & Conventional), Permanent pacemaker, EP (Electrophysiology Study) & RFA (Radiofrequency Ablations) and other cardiac treatment. As most of the cardiac procedures are emergency in nature, this facility in Barasat will ensure such requirements are met and addressed with a team exclusively trained for attending to cardiac emergencies round the clock. Narayana Health group has internal systems and procedures to transfer knowledge and expertise using technological advancements including tele-radiology and tele-medicine to ensure quality and seamless treatment is offered across all hospitals of the group.

With this step towards setting the first Cath Lab in North 24 Parganas, the hospital has taken yet another step in being one of the trusted and comprehensive multispeciality hospital in this region offering quality health care in cardiac and various other clinical specialities at an affordable price
