ExxonMobil will build a new grease plant at its Jurong facility in Singapore to meet the growing needs of its customers in the region, the company announced today at China International Bearing Industry Exhibition. The company officially broke ground for construction of the new plant, located next to its existing lubricant plant in Singapore, on Sept. 9. Its completion is anticipated in 2016.

“Singapore provides an ideal environment and the necessary infrastructure to continue to grow our business and manufacturing operations in Asia Pacific,” said Paul Grives, global services and grease marketing manager, ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Company. “The Jurong grease plant will integrate with our existing chemical and refining activities in Singapore, enabling us to deliver products that will best meet the needs of our customers throughout the region.”

The Jurong Grease Plant extends ExxonMobil’s presence across the wider region, adding to its strong network of production facilities across Asia Pacific. The facility will manufacture three key grease product families which are Mobilith SHC, Mobilgrease XHP and Mobilux.

The new plant, which will incorporate innovative manufacturing technologies, demonstrates the company’s continuing commitment to the region and bringing quality products and innovation to the market.

“In Asia Pacific, particularly China, the demand for grease products is on the rise and this new plant will help position us to meet that increasing demand and contribute to the growth of the regional economy,” said Joanne Eu, Asia Pacific marketing manager, ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Company.
