Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri will be hosting a high-profile public reception organised by the Indian community in the US in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York on September 28.
Davuluri, 25, will be accompanied by 40-year-old popular Indian-origin news anchor Hari Sreenivasan.
Davuluri made history last year as the first Indian American to win the Miss America pageant. Sreenivasan is a PBS NewsHour Weekend Anchor.
Nearly 20,000 Indian Americans are expected to be present at the prestigious Madison Square Garden on September 28 for Modi's public reception, which is said to be the largest of its kind for any head of the State in the US.
