DATRI, India’s largest registry of voluntary blood stem cell donors along with Narayana Health and BGS Hospital today launches ‘Get, Set Go Orange!’, a nation wide blood stem cell donor drive in Bangalore. It will run a month long drive across the country to educate people and encourage them to voluntarily come forward and support the cause. The drive will have the gracious presence of Dr. Sunil Bhat, Pediatric Haemato-Oncologist, Narayana Health Bangalore and Dr. Sachin Jadhav, Consultant Haematologist and BMT Physician, BGS Global Hospital who are supporting the cause, along with Mr. Raghu Rajagopal, Co-Founder & CEO of DATRI.
“The awareness about peripheral blood stem cell transplant is low in India and the number of registered donors is not significant at all, despite our country being home to 1.2 billion. There is an urgent need to increase the number of voluntary blood stem cell donors so we can give a fighting chance to many patients. I urge people to come forward and join this cause. Till date, most of our successful unrelated blood stem cell transplants have been possible due to DATRI’s continuous support “said Dr.Sunil Bhat, Pediatric Haemato Oncologist, Narayana Health, Bangalore.
