#Honda Cars to invest Rs.380 cr for expansion; launches new Honda Jazz Hatchback in Karnataka

Honda Cars India Ltd will expand its production facility in Tapukara, Rajasthan with an investment of Rs 380 crore.


The company is planning to complete the expansion by mid next year and wants to ramp up its production capacity to 1.8 lakh cars per annum.

This was disclosed by Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd at the launch of third generation Honda Jazz in Bengaluru today.The All new Jazz would be available in both Diesel and Petrol fuel options.The diesel variant will have 1.5 L i-DTEC diesel engine exclusively for the Indian market which will offer fuel economy of 27.3 km/l.The Diesel Jazz is powered by the 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine and  Petrol variant of the Jazz is powered with a refined1.2 L i-VTEC engine.

The entry level petrol variant is priced at Rs.5,40,900  and the entry level diesel  variant is priced at Rs. 6,62,900 (both ex- showroom Bangalore ).

The company also announced to strengthen its dealership network and product portfolio in the country."Currently, we have a network of 232 dealers in the country and we are aiming to increase it to 300 dealers by the end of this financial year," he said.
