#TCS to add 17,000 additional seats in #Kolkata in next 2 years

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) plans to add 17,000 additional seats in Kolkata in next 2 years, said Sridhar Bakshi, Vice President & Regional Head (East), TCS said during an Investment Roadshow in Bengaluru organized jointly by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Government of West Bengal.TCS currently has 30,000 IT/ITeS professionals in Kolkata. TCS will be adding a new 40-acre campus at the end of the year in Kolkata .


NASDAQ listed Cognizant Technology is also planning to add 5000 seats in Kolkata, said West Bengal Finance Minister Dr.Amit Mitra.

WB Govt has allocated 10,000 sqft. space at Webel Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata for the startup industry.TV Mohan Das Pai, Chairman Manipal Global Education services suggested that Bengal should come up with Startup Policy to encourage entrepreneurship and set a target of 10,000 startup companies in the next 10 years in the state.
Dr.Mitra claimed that West bengal has attracted Rs 87,000 crore investment from leading corporates, during the last three years and upcoming Bengal Global Business Summit 2016 will attract more investment in the state.
