#Modi invites #Aung San Suu Kyi to visit India

After the historic win in the parliamentary elections in Burma Aung San Suu Kyi the the leader of National League for Democracy in Burma has been invited by Indian  Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit India.

Ecstatic street celebrations had begun within hours of polls closing on Sunday as it became clear that the NLD led by Ms Suu Kyi was heading for a landslide triumph.Ms Suu Kyi has received telephone calls of congratulations from David Cameron, Barack Obama and Francois Hollande, the French president, the NLD said.

Aung San Suu Kyi has a long Indian connection and had studied in the Convent of Jesus and Mary School in New Delhi, and graduated from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi with a degree in politics in 1964.
