More than 88,000 cameras and nearly 4,000 police vehicles wth GPS to secure #Shanghai

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is currently on an official visit to China, visited the Shanghai Command Control Centre today. He was briefed on the functioning of the Centre by the Chinese officials. The Centre is built in the heart of city and operates the Emergency Response System and also monitors the traffic system for the city.


The Union Home Minister was apprised that more 88,000 cameras were installed all around Shanghai and nearly 4,000 police vehicles equipped with GPS were always on alert mode to respond to any emergency situation. Shri Rajnath Singh told the Chinese authorities that India had envisioned such Command Control Centres for 'Safe City' projects and he would instruct the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to incorporate good practices followed here back in India.

Singh also visited Xin Tiandi, a police station in Shanghai city, and saw the functioning of the local police. During his stay in Shanghai he also met the Indian community at Infosys Centre. In his address to the community he highlighted the importance of India-China relations specially in the field of security and economic cooperation.
