#BREAKING : Proposal for #OBC quota in private sector before #Modi Govt.

National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC)  headed by Justice V Eswaraiah has recommended that private companies in India need to set aside a fixed proportion of jobs for people from the other backward classes (OBCs).

If implemented, it could  potentially trigger  protest from industry bodies which have consistently opposed any form legislation to secure OBC reservation in Pvt. sector companies.
Following the death of Rohith Vemula in Hyderabad Modi government and BJP is on the back foot and significant erotion of dalit and OBC vote bank in the upcoming assembly polls is something haunting the current BJP leadership.By implementing OBC quota in private sector BJP govt might try to save the erotion of OBC and dalit votes.
NCBC in its report has said that private companies have been taking a large number of benefits from the government and “every possible advantage for its growth but sufficient candidates” from the SC, ST and OBC categories were not getting entry into the private sector.
It may be noted that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had caused a controversy by opining that the reservation system in the country needed to be reexamined, sparking protests from across the political spectrum. Even the BJP had disagreed with Bhagwat and stated that there were no plans to scrap reservations.
