@PhilipsBlore & @smilefoundation launch e-Learning Prog. centers in #Blr.& #Delhi for urban slum women #SkillIndia

The SMILE Twin e-Learning Program (STeP) centers at Bangalore and Delhi will train 250 women (per year) from urban slums.  The program will also ensure gainful employment for these women in sectors such as retail, hospitality, BPO, beauty and wellness etc.

M.R Srinivas Prasad, CEO Philips Innovation Campus said, “Philips always believes in developing its immediate community and providing them with an improved life. Through the Skill India campaign, we would like to touch lives of more people by creating platforms for skilling themselves and getting employable. The employment opportunities in our country are huge however having the right skill sets often become a hurdle for success. This gap has to be bridged, that’s when our majority of population will become rightfully employable.

Vikram Singh Verma, COO, Smile Foundation says, “Knowledge of market-oriented job skills such as English, basic computer, personality development, retail management, relevant soft skills etc. is essential in seeking a job. For the underprivileged youth in our country, there is an urgent need of employability training that demands addressing. We would like to thank Philips for supporting our youth training and livelihood projects in Delhi and Bengaluru.”
