#TMC's Samir Chakraborty is the richest candidate in the upcoming #WB poll

Samir Chakraborty is also the husband of TMC Leader and Bidhannagar Municipality Chairperson Krishna Chakraborty and owns Bengali TV news channel Channel 10.He has quite some business interest in Dubai and was questened by CBI in the Saradha scam.


Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) said 20 percent of the contesting candidates in the West Bengal assembly polls have admitted in their affidavits filed with the Election Commission that they have criminal cases against them.Out of all the 133 candidates, 21 (16%) candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves.
A total of 15 of the 49 candidates of the BJP, 12 of the 49 from Trinamool Congress, 8 of the 30 from CPI-M, 5 of the 13 from the Congress, 4 out of 9 of the JMM, and 6 of the 36 Independent candidates have also declared that criminal cases are pending against them.

Only 3 or (2.3%) candidates of the 133 contesting candidates in Phase 1(a) of the West Bengal Assembly Elections have declared assets worth over Rs 1 Crore. All three candidates are from the AITC.
