Sub-classification within the SC/STs to identify creamy layer is permissible : #SupremeCourt


In a landmark 6:1 decision, the Supreme Court of India allows sub-classification of SC/STs for reservations, overruling the 2004 E.V. Chinnaiah judgment. CJI Chandrachud highlights the need for targeted benefits and exclusion of the creamy layer within these groups.
