Guided by its Look East Approach that focuses on integrated consumer branding and mutually beneficial business partnership with the Indian travel trade, MTPA has increased its overall India market budget allocation for destination promotion and marketing.
Elaborating on the India market way forward and future strategy, Mr. Robert Desvaux, Chairman , Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority who is currently visiting the country highlighted on the following aspects:

Mauritius - India Connect: MTPA today is keen to invest, grow and open to alliances with our Indian trade partners to explore and enhance mutual business opportunities. Focusing beyond the regular under our new strategic - Look East approach, Mauritius future tactical initiatives, joint marketing and destination branding will be specially customized for the Indian market target segment, which includes Honeymooners, Leisure and Family holiday makers. India is the 7th most prominent tourism source market for Mauritius and 43,911 Indian tourists visited the country in the year 2008.
