Texas Instruments (TI) today introduced technology-enabled Interactive Maths and Science solutions in India by launching a pilot program in the Capital’s Modern School on Barakhamba Road, a premier educational institution in the country. This solution referred to as “Nspired Learning” will be provided to a total of 10 schools across the country to enable Interactive Math & Science lessons and lab-based activities.

Mr.Vineet Joshi, Chairman - Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) unveiled the Nspired Learning Solution to launch the pilot program at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. Ms. Melendy Lovett, President - Education Technology, Texas Instruments Inc., Dr. Biswadip (Bobby) Mitra - President & Managing Director, Texas Instruments India, Mr. Shantanu Prakash, CEO, Educomp Solutions, Dr Anjlee Prakash, CEO, Learning Links Foundation and Ms. Lata Vaidyanathan - Principal, Modern School were present on the occasion.

TI’s Nspired Learning solution focuses on promoting collaboration, inquiry, and assessment to improve maths and science teaching and learning in secondary schools. This solution will be applied towards hands on activities in Math Labs, Science Labs and Comprehensive Continuous Evaluation in the classroom. Additionally, this solution seamlessly integrates with Educomp Smartclass to enhance the student learning experience.

Learning Links Foundation (LLF) serves as the local implementation and professional development agency for the pilot, while Texas Instruments provides the classroom technology as well as customized classroom activities and teacher training.

“This partnership is aligned to our vision of applying innovative solutions to solve critical education problems, and Educomp is happy to share its digital content in supporting the integration of TI the solution in this pilot phase,” said Mr. Shantanu Prakash, Managing Director, Educomp Solutions Limited.

“We are partnering with TI by providing professional development and creating Math and Science activities contextualized for Indian Schools and aligned to our standards. This gives opportunities for learning to be more student-centric and hands on,” said Dr Anjlee Prakash, CEO of Learning Links Foundation.

Nspired Learning solution includes teacher interface on the computer and student interface on the TI-Nspire handheld devices connected wirelessly through the TI-Navigator system. This enables communication between the teacher and pupils -discussion, investigation, problem-solving and assessment — developing an educational environment more conducive to building cognitive skills to better understand abstract concepts.

“We are moving away from conventional methods of teaching to more technology-enabled interactive methods in India,” said Dr. Biswadip (Bobby) Mitra, President & Managing Director, Texas Instruments India. “We are confident that this TI solution will herald a new beginning in the way classes and labs are conducted in our schools.”

“I trust that the Nspired Learning solution provided by Texas Instruments will help the students understand interconnections between different topics of maths and sciences,” said Mrs. Lata Vaidyanathan, Principal of Modern School. “This will enable them to take learning beyond the classroom to establish real-world connections”.
