Over 500 design engineers from industry verticals such as aerospace & defence, automotive, computers, electronics & semiconductors, industrial automation & machinery, and technology services attended the event. Participants included established users and engineers interested in learning more about MATLAB, Simulink, and Polyspace technologies.
In keeping with the Conference theme, ‘Innovating with MATLAB & Simulink’, the 2010 MathWorks India User Conference introduced MathWorks India customers to advanced design engineering technologies. Attendees were able to choose from an assortment of sessions including Control System Development with Model-Based Design, Design Flows for Next-Generation Signal Processing and Communications Systems, Embedded Code Generation and Verification Methodologies, Mathematical Modeling and Optimization of Wind Turbine Power Generation, Test and Measurement Application Development with MATLAB, and Accelerating HDL Code Generation and Verification with Model-Based Design.
Dr. Aravind S. Bharadwaj, CEO of Automotive Infotronics delivered the customer keynote, ‘Model-Based Design for Automotive Applications.’ He said, “Embedded automotive electronics will dominate the future of automotive applications worldwide, and India is no exception to this. Model-Based Design can help harness this opportunity and will radically improve efficiencies in the development process, and drive innovation. MathWorks software and the Model-Based Design approach have enabled Automotive Infotronics to create Intellectual Property.”
Presentations by Senior Engineering Managers from prominent and long-standing MathWorks India customers such as Bosch Limited, and Moog India Technology Center reinforced the central role of MathWorks software in creating robust designs and making design processes more efficient.

The first ever MathWorks User Conference in India is a significant step in reiterating our commitment to the Indian engineering community. The conference ended with an insightful panel discussion on ‘Leveraging Models to Improve Systems Development’, facilitating an exchange of ideas on the innovative usage of MathWorks software across diverse industries. The panel consisted of Senior Engineering Managers from National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bosch Limited, Moog India Technology Center, and MathWorks technical experts, and was moderated by MathWorks Fellow, Jim Tung, a 20-year MathWorks veteran.
