National Instruments, a technology pioneer and leader in Graphical System Design , along with NICE (Nurturing Innovation and Creativity in Engineering) committee announced the 9th Annual Educator’s Day 2010 to be held on December 13-14, 2010 at the Chennai Trade Centre, Mount Poonamalleee Road, Chennai. The event will focus on the need of ‘Research and Consulting’ that plays a pivotal role in motivating students and teachers on effective use of technology in education.
‘Research and Consulting’ - is the theme of the Annual Educator’s Day 2010. Every year, the engineering community of India looks forward to this largest academic platform aimed at fostering the spirit of innovation and creativity among the engineering professors and students in the state as well as across India. The Educator’s Day serves as a platform to bridge the gap between the industry and the academia– from bringing new technologies to classrooms to idea exchange between industry experts and academicians. The event is expected to attract over 1000 participants from the academic community comprising of directors of education systems, senior professors, scientists and researchers.
Educator’s Day 2010 will host eminent thought leaders from the engineering education industry who will address and engage the need for ‘Research & Consulting’ and ways to bring out the scientific quotient of the students and teachers to enhance the future of engineering education in the country.
The event will also include demonstrations and presentations by award winning students and research scholars from engineering colleges across India in the field of computer based measurement, control and automation. The event will be presided over by NICE Committee members, followed by a key note session by Mr. Jayaram Pillai, Managing Director, IndRA (India, Russia and Arabia)NI on the importance of Research and Consulting in the field of engineering education. Dr. Poongothai, Minister for Information Technology, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, the Guest of Honour and Mr. M. Sivakumar, CEO – ICTACT (A Consortium of Govt of India, Govt of Tamil Nadu and CII) will also be present at the occasion to felicitate the students and professors for their outstanding innovations in the field of science & engineering. The first day of the event will witness participation of students across the country, for the first time, as part of Educator’s Day 2010. The highly acclaimed National level technical competitions - VI Mantra and NI Yantra will stage its Grand Finale on the 13th of Dec. Demonstrations, video sessions and projects counseling will be part of the whole day event. The winners of VI Mantra and NI Yantra will be announced on 14th December- Educator’s Day with the award distribution by Dr.Poongothai.
The Educator’s Day platform aims to improve the quality of engineering and science education through experiential learning, an approach that helps educators prepare better future engineers and scientists by creating an effective and dynamic learning environment.
