Rahul Dravid inaugurates Castrol Cricket Performance Centre in Bengaluru

On the eve of the highly anticipated match between India and Ireland, Bengalaru’s own star cricketer, Rahul Dravid, inaugurated the Castrol Cricket Performance Centre, at Koramangala Indoor Stadium today.

The Castrol Cricket Performance Centre offers a unique cricket experience based on cutting edge technology and performance analysis. Castrol is the “Official Performance Partner” of the ICC and has been in the forefront of unleashing a slew of activities to enhance the fan’s experience of the game, including activation in the digital space which includes the Castrol Index – an unbiased and objective system to measure performances of players and teams in the context of winning.

The Castrol Cricket Performance Centre is a state of the art performance centre with games based on cricketing aspects including batting, bowling, fielding and running between-the-wickets. These games integrate technology and performance, with an opportunity to measure performance after each game. The world’s most sophisticated and accurate “Pitch Vision” technology is used for these games, which offer fans an opportunity to experience firsthand, the latest technology being used in modern day cricket.

Speaking at the event, Rahul Dravid said, “Castrol Cricket Performance Centre is an innovative synergy of technology and performance. Technology which is on display here, allows players to hone their skills, work on their shortcomings and measure their performance, all in real time. I am not surprised Castrol has come up with such an innovative effort to measure performance – after all they are the Performance Partners of the ICC and they do innovative things all the time – whether it’s in cricket or in their product technology.”

The games cleverly integrate the brand propositions of high performance Castrol brands e.g. Castrol Power1 is integrated with acceleration and power in the batting arena, whereas the Castrol Activ brand which is associated with “Superior All Round Protection” features in the fielding section (since fielders need to protect runs). Similarly, running between the wickets requires a quick start and intelligence, which is what Castrol Magnatec offers for the car’s engine.

Cricket fans in Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai will also get the opportunity to experience the performance centre later on in the month.
