Pride of Karnataka awards conferred on prominent achievers by Round Table India

Round Table India, an organization of young men that promotes Service through Fellowship, gave away the ‘Pride of Karnataka’ awards. These awards were given to achievers from Karnataka across different walks of life for the third consecutive year. In an event organized in the city, Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice (Retd), Mr. Shivraj Patil, presented the award to Mr. Narayana Murthy for contribution in the Corporate Category, Mr. Anil Kumble in the Sports category, Ms. Ramya in the Entertainment Category, Mr. Yusuf Arakkal in the field of Art and Mr. S.L Bhyrappa for Literature.

‘Pride of Karnataka’ is an award instituted by Round Table India, in an attempt to honour individuals who have significantly contributed in their own fields and brought laurels to the State. A 5 member jury from Round Table India chose the recipients for the awards based on their achievements and their contribution to their respective fields. The awardees this year have been chosen for their outstanding work in the field of Management, Sports, Entertainment, Art and Literature.

On the occasion, Tr. Ashwinni Kumar Hemdev, National President, Round Table India, said, “The Round Table of India and its members help contribute to the development of the society in our own capacity. There is a lot of effort that needs to go in to make our society an improved and self sustained healthy environment. There are many who contribute to the welfare of the society in their own special way. Through the Pride of Karnataka awards, we wish to recognize the passion and commitment a few esteemed personalities have shown in their chosen profession and who have contributed to the improvement of society. We strongly believe that these awardees are true icons that the youth of our society can look up to today.”

On receiving the award Mr. Narayana Murthy said “It is an honour to receive this prestigious award from the distinguished members of the Round Table of India who have been doing some tremendous work throughout the country. Success does not come very easily to a person or an organization. It requires a lot of hard work, determination and enduring passion for growth and development. Each person should realise that their actions can make a difference at least in a small way to this world. ”

Commenting on the award Mr. Anil Kumble said, “It is indeed an honour to receive this award from the Round Table of India. I hope to see several more youngsters stepping in to help improve the society through constructive activities.”

Ms. Ramya who was awarded for her contribution to the Entertainment category said, “I am delighted to have been chosen by the Round Table of India as a recipient of this award. It feels great to be felicitated with other eminent personalities who have been successful in their respective fields. I hope to see more active participation by the youth in contributing to the growth and development of our state.”

Mr. Yusuf Arakkal on receiving the award said, “I am very grateful in receiving this award today along with other renowned and talented people from other fields. The Round Table of India has been a significant contributor to social causes and I applaud them for their perpetual commitment towards the improvement of the society. I am pleased to be recognised for my contribution to society through my work. “

Speaking on the occasion Mr. S.L Bhyrappa said, “It has been an honour to receive this award from the Round Table of India. The pen is known to be mightier than the sword. It is humbling to know that my work has been recognised in contributing to the society in a small way. It is also encouraging to see the several educational projects that the Round Table of India has taken up throughout the country. Imparting and gaining education is important in today’s world. I believe it is the biggest contributor to the improvement of society”

Round Table India is committed to serve the society, starting from small projects directed towards community service to large projects on community development. Round Table India is also focused on providing basic infrastructure for primary education in rural India, through their long term National Project “Freedom through Education” reaching out to educate underprivileged children.

Round Table India, an organization of non-political and non-sectarian young men between the age group of 18 and 40 strives to promote Service through Fellowship. It is through the fellowship of endearing young men that this organization has served the community for the last 50 years.

This focused effort will benefit 3 million children in a 25 year cycle (1996-2021).

Round Table India is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year and to commemorate 50 years of Joyous presence in India, RTI has constructed 107 Schools worth Rs.24 Crores in Golden Jubilee Year itself. About 467 classrooms are built with 150 toilet blocks in the 2011- 2012 along with amenities including benches, science halls, kitchen water filtration facilities and tech aids. Speaking about the Golden Jubilee celebrations, Tr Ashwinni Kumar P Hemadev National President, Round Table India said, “We have always been passionate about eradicating illiteracy from the nation. We are excited that our ‘freedom through education’ campaign is taking a huge step impacting number of children around the nation. We would also thank all the donors who have participated and funded this initiative.”

Tr. Ashwinni Kumar P Hemdev, National President of Round Table India is a second generation Entrepreneur based out of Mysore. He is also a second generation Tabler and belongs to his Table – Mysore Round Table 21. He is engaged in the Family business of Flexible Packaging materials and runs Darshan Flexibles Private Limited along with his wife Divya who supports him whole-heartedly in all his Tabling and Business endeavors.

For Ashwin, Tabling forms a 1/3rd part of his life! Extremely passionate about Tabling, Round Table India has given Ashwin all that he could ask for from a Young Men’s Organization.
