Intel excited about All-in-One The Next Exhilarating Computing Opportunity

Intel in India, a leader in computing innovation today shared insights into its All-in-One (AIO) strategy for the Indian market. Intel aims to enable a larger number of Intel Technology Providers to offer All-in-Ones. The meeting was addressed by Rajiv Bhalla, Director – Strategic Initiatives, Intel South Asia. In his presentation, he explained the background and the research behind Intel’s vision to enable Intel Technology Providers with the AIOs. He showed how AIO consumption in India is accelerating desktop PC growth; shared consumer reactions towards the AIOs; and shared insight into how the evolution of the AIOs is reviving desktop PCs for consumers now and in the future. Intel will focus on accelerating deskptop growth by enabling a larger number of Intel Technology Providers to adopt AIOs.

Commenting on the way forward for Intel’s channel AIO strategy, Rajiv Bhalla, Director – Strategic Initiatives, Intel South Asia, said, “All-in-Ones will be a fast-moving category for Intel Technology Providers. The overwhelming response to our initial pilot project in East regions is testimony to this fact. We are helping Intel Technology Providers and original design manufacturers to work together on different SKUs for All-In-Ones. With the increased market interest and growth in the All-in-One segment over the past few years, we feel there is a real opportunity to enable the smaller system integrators with this form factor.”

AIO desktops are slim, aesthetically pleasing personal computers that provides value and benefits to business and customers alike with the perfect balance of power and cutting edge performance. According to the worldwide and U.S. PC client sub form factor 2011–2015 forecast by IT market research and advisory firm International Data Corporation (IDC), AIO desktops are gaining traction in the desktop market, mostly driven by the consumer segment. Price decline is another factor that is boosting the opportunity for AIO, and more consumers are showing interest in the AIO form factor and touch technologies. As per data provided by IDC, the shipments for AIOs in India has been growing steadily for the last 5 quarters with an average of 65,000 shipments per quarter.

AIO PCs powered by 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ family processors deliver smart performance and stunning visuals, in addition to being highly energy-efficient. Intel is aiming for local integration of AIO systems with interchangeable motherboards, AIO enclosures and PC components from multiple suppliers.

At a press event held at The Park, Kolkata today, Intel hosted a series of demos that showcased various computing opportunities with Intel’s vision for AIOs. Some of the demos on display were:

o ECS 21.5", L6, Touch Panel

o Gigabyet 21.5" L6 (GB-AEDT) without touch panel

o Gigabyet 18.5" L6 (GB-AEBN) without touch panel

o WibTek 21.5” L6 without touch Panel
