United Spirits had launched Black Dog 18 YO in 2011, which usurped popular industry labels and won the IWSC Gold Best in Class award last year.

According to Ashok Capoor, President and Managing Director of United Spirits Limited, “United Spirits dominates the 12 YO Scotch market with Black Dog. The launch of Black Dog 21 YO augurs well for our scotch footprint and our ability to offer a complete and more robust Black Dog franchise from the regular to the luxury Scotch segment. This is a part of our premiumization agenda. Today, premium brands contribute 55% of USL’s contribution pie, with this number likely to increase to 60% by the end of this year.”

India is amongst the fastest growing alcobev markets in the world, with major headroom for growth in the premium segments. Only 25 of the finest single malts and grain whiskies have been drawn from the highland region of Scotland, in particular from the beautiful Speyside Valley to provide that special “finesse”. Black Dog 21 YO will be available in key markets in the price range of Rs 12000-16500 (depending on State pricing policies).

About Black Dog:

The birth of the great whisky took place more than 125 years ago when James McKinley from the second generations of the Leith Scotch-whisky blending family launched the masterful whisky by the name of Sir Walter Millard's favorite fishing fly, The Black Dog. It is said that in the year 1883 Sir Walter Millard, a Scot who was an extensive traveler came searching for the perfect Scotch and eventually discovered the great taste of whisky in these misty shores of Scotland. Today Black Dog is savored as a Scotch-whisky distilled, matured and blended in the lowland regions of Scotland. After more than 125 years every time-honored process is followed the same way to produce the impeccable blend of robust, yet smooth Scotch-whisky which is relished as an intricate fusion of delicate tones and soft aromas. Available in 3 enchanting blends – 18 Year Old Reserve Scotch-whisky, 12 Year Old Deluxe Scotch-whisky and Centenary Scotch-whisky.
