92.7 BIG FM, India’s No. 1 FM radio network which is now in its 5th season of hosting its eco-friendly, paper mache, BIG Green Ganesha has seen the local populace and celebrities alike come forward to support the Green cause over the years. Today, performing the aarthi and praying for his career, family and the people of the city was none other than Tollywoods favourite actor Suneel. In performing the aarthi, Suneel too joined the 92.7 BIG FM crusade to protect the earth and seek the blessings of the Elephant God! The 92.7 BIG FM and Bharathi Cements initiative in Hyderabad has also encouraged corporates to come forward with Tata Docomo coming on board as powered by sponsors. It is with the help of these sponsors and the radio station that the Ganesha created has been installed at Prasad’s IMAX.
With 92.7 BIG FM completing 6 years of entertaining the city of Hyderabad, it called for a double celebration and the need for double blessings. The Aarthi was followed by a cake cutting ceremony with the entire team of 92.7 BIG FM, Mr. Ravinder Reddy, Director Marketing of Bharathi Cement and actor Suneel.
Speaking on the occasion, Suneel congratulated BIG FM for promoting the concept of eco friendly Ganesha and wanted BIG FM to encourage buying of eco friendly Ganesha idols by announcing the addresses of vendors selling Eco friendly Ganesh idols in the city. He said, his next movie is a Telugu remake of Tannu weds Mannu, title has not yet been decided for the movie, he added. In this movie too I will display my six pack, he added to the loud cheer of the fans present. He said, I keep visiting BIG FM office and chatting with the audience, sometimes I get worried I might become an Rj and forget my own profession. One thing is for sure, I want to play a Rj character in one of my future movies. In another movie I signed, I will be playing the character of a fashion designer who lands in US, the title is yet to be decided.
Aimed at creating social consciousness towards making one of India’s largest and most popular festivals better and more ecologically sound, celebrities, educationists, students and the local populace have all come forward in large numbers donating one newspaper per household. The RJ’s of 92.7 BIG FM who have been committed to the cause have been visiting high footfall areas, spreading awareness about the issue, encouraging people to go eco-friendly and also collecting the paper donation. The rationale of the donation being that people, who donate, feel closer and more involved in the Green revolution and donating newspapers may be a small but significant step in the right direction to spread the message on celebrating the festival in an eco friendly fashion.
