Google supports INK Fellows Program

Google India has announced its partnership with INK Conference, to support its Fellows Program, built to promote young innovators. Associated with TED, INK Conference is the local platform in India that brings together accomplished individuals from across fields – including art, architecture, technology, science, and social entrepreneurship. This year’s theme for the third INK annual conference in India, being held from October 11-14 in Pune, is ‘Designing the Future, Now’.

Under the one year tie-up, Google will directly support the INK Fellows Program, and help them create a meaningful, long-term engagement platform to voice and act on ideas. Leadership team of Google India will take stage this October along with 22 of the new INK Fellows to share stories of innovation, and showcase how simple ideas have changed the way they think, execute, and achieve.

According to Rajan Anandan, Vice President & Managing Director, Google India, “Google has always been associated with innovation, and there is no better forum than INK Talks to showcase how ideas have changed the way people live, and do things today. We are extremely happy to be associated with this forum, and in the coming year, Google and INK will create multiple opportunities for INK Fellows to engage with Indian citizens.”

"INK Fellows program is a platform for young thought leaders across disciplines to share their ideas and accelerate the process to turn their ideas into impact. We are thrilled to partner with Google to support the INK Fellows, who are the new generation of role models" said Lakshmi Pratury, Host and curator of the INK conference.

As a part of the partnership, three individuals from INK Fellows alumni will be brought back to attend INK 2012 and featured as Google INK Technology Fellows. There will also be an offsite where the Fellows would present their ideas to top notch VCs, cultural icons, and community leaders. Based on the jury’s decisions, two awards of $10,000 each will be given to the winners to ‘implement’ their own programs.

At INK Talks 2012, participants can expect to meet some of the most successful business, cultural, and technology thought leaders, who have changed the way they live their lives and careers. With more than 50 speakers expected at the three day event, including Shantanu Moitra (music director, composer), Matt Groening (Cartoonist, creator of The Simpsons), Shruti Hassan (actress, singer), and Gurcharan Das (Indian author, commentator and public intellectual), amongst others, intellectual exchange of ideas is a given!
