SCI Best Practices Meet 2013 provides platform for a multi-stakeholder dialogue on contemporary issues and challenges in cyber security
Data Security Council of India (DSCI), the focal body on data protection set up by NASSCOM, announced that it will conduct the 5th ‘Best Practices Meet’- one of its flagship events in Chennai on July 12, 2013. The event themed ‘Forward Leaning Strategies for Cyber Security’ aims at engaging the stakeholders - policy makers, critical infrastructures, user organizations and service providers in a dialogue to address the complex dynamics of changing threat landscape and help build robust approach towards strengthening the cyber security in the country.

Dr. Kamlesh Bajaj, CEO DSCI on the occasion said “DSCI has proactively engaged with the government and law enforcement agencies on public advocacy and thought leadership to promote the growth of public-private-partnership (PPP) and encouraged multi-stakeholders approach in strengthening cyber security in the country. NASSCOM-DSCI report ‘Securing Our Cyber Frontiers’ presented to the National Security Advisor (NSA) published in 2012 that catalyzed the creation of Joint Working Group (JWG) under the Chairpersonship of Dy NSA as an institutional mechanism for promoting PPP to strengthen cyber security.”

Best Practices Meet 2013 is yet another endeavor by DSCI to engage the stakeholders and facilitate in-depth discussions on the issues of cyber security. The Meet, through eminent leaders from government, user organizations and service providers will weave in discussions on changing technology landscape, trends and best practices essential to combat cyber attacks and crimes. It will feature multiple parallel sessions and panel discussions including - National Cyber Security through PPP, Cyber Health, Cyber Defense, Demystifying Cyber Attacks, Security Automation & Intelligence, Defending Application Innovations and Defending against Advance Persistent Threats.

With the release of the National Cyber Security Policy 2013 last week, the BPM 13 will feature a comprehensive discussion on the policy. Additionally, a ‘Technical Paper Contest’, is also being organized in partnership with IEEE India Council to promote new thoughts and ideas.
