In an impressive Passing Out Parade, 29 Officer trainees including five women officers of the Indian Coast Guard successfully completed the CG law and Ops course at Coast Guard training centre (Kochi) today. The Chief Guest Inspector General KC Pande, Commander Coast Guard Region (North East) reviewed the Parade. The Twelve week course contained topics ranging from maritime law, ocean management & pollution response , search & rescue, fisheries and CG operations. Faculties from Law College, Passport Office, Police Department, Customs and Central Excise and Port Trust were invited to deliver lectures to the trainees. Educational visits to shipyards and boatyards had also been scheduled to enable understanding of ship construction, architecture and maintenance of ships and boats..
Assistant Commandant Ravi Shankar was awarded the ‘Director General Sword of Honour’ for being the best all round officer of the 55th Batch. Assistant Commandant Simranjeet Singh was awarded book prize for scoring highest marks in the Law and Ops Course.
These Officers will now proceed for sea training in different Indian Coast Guard ships starting with their watch keeping phase.
