CARAN D’ACHE SHIVA:

The latest offering to pen aficionados across the world has been created in honor of the Hindu God, Shiva. After crafting Buddha and Ganesh, Caran d’Ache has collaborated with renowned Swiss jeweler and artist, Edouard Jud, to produce The Limited Edition Shiva, the latest addition to the Artiste Collection. Handcrafted in 800 solid silver with a distinctive finish, these glorious pieces successfully evoke the mystery and symbolism associated with the Indian deity. The pen's cap is crowned with an agate, a semi-precious stone carefully chosen by Caran d'Ache craftsmen for its intense blue that brings to mind the vibrant hues of India and the colour of Shiva's skin. The personification of the Absolute, Shiva appears on the body and cap of the writing instrument in several representations of his destructive and regenerative power. The third eye of Shiva is engraved on the writing instrument, symbolizing wisdom and spiritual knowledge. Shiva Nataraja, the cosmic dancer, moves to the rhythm of his damaru using his four arms to indicate the dimensions of space that are necessary for ascension to a new world. From the agate that adorns the cap to the diamond that highlights the trident, the fine engravings and gilded details on the body of the pen express the mystical spirit of this God. Featuring a rhodium-coated 18 carat gold nib, this fine writing instrument is spectacular, to say the least. Limited to 108 individually numbered cosmic writing instruments worldwide.

SAILOR VENKATESHWARA:

A fine tribute to the Lord of The Seven Hills, the Sailor Sri Venkateswara Limited Edition pen is an artistic masterpiece that exudes an aura of spirituality designed especially for the Indian audience.

Sri Venkateswara, also known as the Supreme Lord, is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, one of the Holy Trinity, in Hindu mythology. Hand crafted by the renowned Japanese Maki-e artist, Kousen Oshita, the body of this pen is first urushi lacquered (an ancient Japanese technique), and, then, the image of Lord Venkateswara is meticulously hand painted, using real gold, silver and abalone. Hands drawn on the lower half of the cap are the seven peaks, representing the seven heads of Adisesha - the cosmic serpent, thus earning the sobriquet 'Seshachalam'.

Motifs of Mythology - the Shanka, the Chakra and the Namaam Flawlessly depicted on the cap of the pen, are the three symbols of Lord Venkateswara: the Shanka - Panchajanya, the Chakra - Sudarshana, and the Namam.

The Nib is solid 21k gold, engraved with the Namam - a symbol that represents the s cales of justice.

VISCONTI MEDINA:

Science and Ethic, Third Millennium and Secularism, Laicism and Religion, these are just some of the great themes of humanity, which often compete among each other, opposing themselves.

Globalization has enlarged this dichotomy: although at the end of the past century science and rationalism seemed to prevail, at least in all industrialized countries, throughout the third millennium, because of uncertainties mostly due to September 11, religion has dramatically become more and more significant not only from the spiritual, but also and unfortunately from the conflict fostering point of view, which is a consequence of the establishment of the new multiethnic societies. This chain of events has brought religion more and more at the center of our lives, last but not the least, in our political perception too.

Visconti has always been very attentive in giving importance, with its creations, to aspects and themes that have impact, change or describe our lives. This Limited Edition fountain pen collection is dedicated to all religions of the world and the name chosen to describe it is (not by chance) MYSTIC PENS.

Medina is the town where Muhammad died.

Medina is turned from ivory coloured resin bars with a green marbled cap recalling the famous dome, one of the most well known symbols of Islam together with the Kaaba. The decorative pattern, which is also the focus of the entire pen, is the wonderful microcast artwork on the shaft representing the doors of the holy chamber where the prophet is buried. The cap is decorated by a large ring with patterns recalling those doors and this whole decoration is in great harmony with the shaft. The clip recalls the form of the many columns inside the Mosque. The Mecca pen numbering system is inspired to number 622, the year of Hijra.
